If you are travelling to Chiang Dao, then do plan your stay at one of the farm stays in Ban Tham, a small village on the west of Chiang Dao town. Chiang Dao is like a normal town nothing much to appeal. All major attractions (Chiang Dao Caves, Wat Tham Pha Plong, Chiang Dao Hot Springs) too are located on this side of the town.

There are multiple farm-stay options and it would certainly be a unique experience as you will stay away from the city hustle bustle in one of the farm-stays, at jungle foot-hills surrounded by mountains and right on the side of a water stream. In case you happen to be in Chiang Dao and choose a hotel accommodation in city skipping a farm stay, we bet you would be missing one of the best experiences of being in Chiang Dao 🙂 You may explore your options at Booking.com.

After a quick online research, we zeroed down to Do Dao Daoi Farm Stay – as usual a place with high ratings (almost a 5 rating across all websites) and low budget ( ~600 Thai Baht including break fast). When we reached at the farm stay, we were simply mesmerized. A super awesome place inside a farm right next to water stream and surrounded with mountains and jungle. Only sound was of birds and water stream and at times Aun’s dogs. Aun is the owner of the property and he will do everything to make your stay comfortable. Even with his limited English knowledge, he will try his best to guide you to all the good places in Chiang Dao. Really loved our stay at Aun’s farm stay. Place is quite close to all major attractions – (Chiang Dao Caves, Wat Tham Pha Plong, Chiang Dao Hot Springs). You can check reviews and book Do Dao Daoi Farm Stay ( Location ) at Booking.com
This is not a sponsored post. We love to write about hosts who go far and beyond to take care of their guests and Aun is certainly one of them 🙂
Here are the pictures from our stay –
Area around the farm is a small village. Here is the sun-rise view that I captured on my morning walk –
Just next to Do Dao Daoi Farm Stay (around 100 meters walk) are Chiang Dao Hot Springs. Aun guided us to the springs and it was another offbeat experience for us.

Just one thing – Aun manages the property alone and thus it is difficult for him to manage meals too. So you have to get your lunch and dinner at some restaurant outside. Of course, breakfast is complementary. Also, do not get bothered even if Aun’s dogs bark at you. They won’t bite 🙂
An awesome stay that we thoroughly enjoyed. A big thanks to Aun, of course !!
