We do not know who he is, what his name is but we are going to remember our interaction with him forever.
We met him during our visit to Belum Caves in Andhra Pradesh. After exploring Gandikota Fort, we boarded bus to Belum Caves. While walking on the road leading to the caves, we saw a big Buddha statue on our left. We went closer and as we were clicking pictures, we heard – “Hello”. We saw a middle aged person dressed in sparkling white shirt signaling us to sit by his side with a smile. He did not know English or Hindi at all and we did not know his language, Telugu but he really wanted to know about us. He as well as we kept trying communicating with signals but understanding nothing. Still, he kept on smiling and laughing and so did us. None of us probably could understand what we were trying to ask or say but still we came to know each other and became friends through our smiles.
He signalled us to click his picture from our camera and that’s when we had clicked the above picture. When, we asked him to click our picture, he was shy to handle camera. He tried but could not operate camera in first two attempts and third time, he got the click. Not a perfect one but yes, he was really happy seeing the picture that he had clicked.
We waved good bye to our unknown friend with smiles as we headed to the caves.
