Steep climb through Nichnai Pass (Vishnusar Berry)
(Go to the Top) From Nichnai camp-site, you walk through a boulder pass (small extension from the previous day) to cross the river stream to your right. After that, it is a steep ascent for initial past and slow ascent thereon as you reach to the top of Nichnai Pass.
Top of Nichnai Pass (13500 feet)
(Go to the Top) You walk along a river stream to reach the top of Nichnai Pass. As you reach to the top, suddenly small icy patches change to big glaciers with water flowing down to small lakes and streams. Flowers and horses on the way accompany you not letting you get tired. There is also a Dhaba and BSNL signals at the top.
A Slow Descent to Lunch point
(Go to the Top) From Top of Nichnai Pass, it is a slow descent, initially passing through boulders slowly merging with a grassland full of flowers. You finally descend to a beautiful valley next to a water-stream with a waterfall over-looking all of us. This was our lunch-point.
Changing Colours of flowers
(Go to the Top) These beautiful flowers do not let you feel at all that you have lost the forest somewhere behind. Best part is that they keep on changing colours as you keep moving changing your altitude. From crimson red to blue and then white and then a unique combination of colours !!
Walk along side shepherd and sheep through long meadow
(Go to the Top) After lunch, it is a long walk through a meadow criss-crossed by water-streams and surrounded by bare mountains looking like a castle. Even so far from the civilization, you will get a good company from shepherds whistling out at their sheep 🙂
Vishnusar Camp-Site
(Go to the Top) After a long walk, we were almost tired by the time we reached Vishnusar camp-site. We crossed a big water stream (originating from Vishnusar lake) to reach our tents.
Divine Deep Blue Vishnusar Lake
(Go to the Top) Vishnusar Lake was just 5-minute walk from our camp-site. After evening snacks, we walked up the small hill hiding Vishnusar Lake. It is a splendid deep blue lake and we bet that you would be mesmerized by the view of this out of the world sight. Colour keeps on changing during the day with change in sun-light but the glimpse of lake and reflection of 4 mountains surrounding Vishnusar lake gives a feeling as if you are meeting a divine family !!
Kishansar Lake, twin of Vishnusar is around a kilometer ahead. We visited Kishnasar Lake next day on our way to Gadsar.
Checking out for the day. See you tomorrow for our next day trek !! Read about our Day -4 Experience here. Please drop us comments in case you want to add more or require any additional information.
