These Mexican sunflowers begin to blossom only in Nov and early Dec (for a period of less than 40 days). We will strongly recommend to visit before 2nd week of Dec as when we visited (around 2nd week of December), most of the flowers have dried up except few patches. During this period, Northern Thailand also holds the famous Bua Tong Festival when these flowers remain at their full bloom.
These wild sunflower (Bua Tong) blossom only once a year and it is a heavenly sight. Do not miss and do remember the time period – 1st Nov to 10th Dec. Mountain sights from the top too are amazingly beautiful. Sit in silence and enjoy the beauty of nature !!

As we were a bit late and by that time sun-flowers were drying away, so could not capture the best pictures of these beautiful flowers. Still we loved the peace and feel of the place as we spent time amid serene mountains before heading to our next destination.
