You will always be my tree - Poem

You will always be my tree

Your leaves may no longer be green
or you may shed them all
You may set free some old branches
or grow a few completely new
You may wither in cyclones
or dance in lightning and rains
You still will be my tree.

I will come and hold your trunk
Put my face on your soul
talk to your roots
and listen to your core
Because you will always be my tree.

Today or tomorrow, near or far
Brown, yellow, red, green
Big, small, old or thin
With leaves or without leaves
You will always be my tree.
