Twin Royal Chedis dedicated to King and Queen are the main attraction at the summit of Doi Inthanon, the highest mountain peak of Thailand (Height: 2,146 meters above sea level).

As you ascend up on the road to the main summit of Doi Inthanon, Royal Chedis welcome you first. Around 5 kilometers prior to the summit stand these two adjacent pagodas, one called Phra Mahathat Naphamethanidon (นภเมทินีดล), meaning ‘by the strength of the land and air’, and the other, Phra MahathatNaphapholphumisiri (นภพลภูมิสิริ), meaning ‘being the strength of the air and the grace of the land’. These stupas are the Buddhist places of worship containing the Lord Buddha’a relics. The Royal Thai Air Force constructed the Stupas in commemoration of their Majesties The King’s (King Bhumibol Adulyadej) and Queen’s (Queen Sirikit) Sixtieth Birthday anniversaries in 1987 and 1992, respectively. Visitors are expected to remain peaceful while visiting these temples. Stairs are really steep and will take some efforts for you to climb both ways. Go slow especially with elders as Oxygen levels too are low at such a height.

Gardens of Royal Twin Pagodas are also amazing and beautiful. You can take a quick walk across after visiting the main temple. With divine and lush green surroundings, find a peaceful spot and enjoy the divine royal experience.
Spot for best picture of Royal Chedis together
In case, you want to capture the best picture of both Chedis together, you have to put some efforts and get to the view-point on Kio Mae Pan Nature Trail/Kaew Mae Pan Nature Trail. Towards the end of this trail, you will get a view of both Pagodas together from a cliff. From here, you can capture the best picture of Royal Chedis of Doi Inthanon. It was a quick visit to these Royal Pagodas on our day trip to Doi Inthanon as we stayed here for about half an hour before heading to the summit of Doi Inthanon and then hiking across Ang Ka Natural Trail and Kew Mae Pan Nature Trail. Hope you too enjoy the royal divine experience here.
